I bet you can guess where the adhesive was balled up in this glove (and this is extremely common in fastpitch gloves because of the way a girl will squeeze the glove).
As a side note, I don't know of any manufacturer that uses felt in the palm. Sometimes a leather pad, sometimes poron...
ok, so might as well throw some advice out there.
The leather isn't that stiff, it's the "glue" or palm adhesive that's on the inside that makes this process difficult. You have 2 choices really...
1. open the glove and remove it. You will find this will get the glove to a 90% level of...
That's why I'm going to wait for all the for used sale ads for these in a month or two when people realize their kid doesn't like the bat regardless of what it cost.
her lower back looks stiff/tight. Bet if you get her to relax it (girls don't like to "slouch") she will seem a bit more fluid. Could also ask her to grunt when she feels her force is maximized. This audible clue will help relax her back as a release.
The frustrating part, is not even all fastpitch gloves are similar in size. There are "high end" fp gloves that I wouldn't dream of buying my daughter because there is zero pocket. Softball is not baseball....not even close. Why the concept of a smaller glove must mean my player is "better"...
My kid is tall and lanky, and the all-star shins would actually hit the backs of her thighs when squatting and push them away from her shins. The Mizuno are a little more contoured and with the strap the don't budge when moving around. We've got more than a year in them and at first I though...
We use an AllStar helmet with the Mizuno chest and legs (newer style with the strap under the foot).Has been a really great combo (the shins stay in place better than her previous wilson promotion)
If you go Vinci, the best way to start the break in is to open it up and work the palm pad that's attached to the felt. Get rid of the palm adhesive while you are there too because as you break it in it will be prone to leaving ridges in the palm. I've actually taken the inner felt that has...
Popups are a pretty good indicator the bat is too flat at contact.
it's in the first move of the barrel...This is a classic drop barrel and then swing around.
Other than that she appears to have great rhythm and confidence in the box. A little better attack and she'll be dangerous.
