    College DP / Flex Rule

Can you confirm this scenario? Starting pitcher hits for herself in the lineup. She comes out of the game in inning 4 but still hits. In this case should she be the DP and the new pitcher would have to have been listed as the flex on the lineup? Is there a way for a player to continue to hit...

    DP/Flex rule

The starting pitcher can play other positions but coach chooses not to allow them to do so when removed from the game. Utilizes a player recovering from an injury who cannot play defense as the DP. Therefore, I believe since there’s no other option if the starting pitcher comes out and a pitcher...

    DP/Flex rule

PO = pitcher only who doesn’t hit for herself In my example, the flex at the start of a game is a fielder other than the pitcher, who is hitting for herself. The DP is hitting for that fielder. If the pitcher who is hitting for herself gets removed from the game and is replaced by a PO (again...

    DP/Flex rule

When a pitcher is batting for herself and the Flex is a fielder, if the pitcher gets removed and replaced with a PO, is the only option to pinch hit for the PO when she gets up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    First NCAA D1 Win

DD earned her first D1 win this weekend throwing a complete game effort with 2 ER, 8K’s and 0 BB’s. Parents from the other team complimented her on her changeup saying that throwing it often kept their team completely off balance. DD is a spin pitcher and relies on hitting spots and spinning the...

Head Coach Suddenly Out at NC State?

If it’s about the record you would think this would have happened earlier in the week instead of right before needing to travel to an away weekend for the opening of conference play. That would allow the team to acclimate to the news and new coaching situation. JMO Sent from my iPhone using...

    Second skin?

Gorilla grip cloths are allowed. It’s a tacky mesh cloth that some pitchers utilize to enhance grip. Kelly Lynch from U Washington made a post of what’s in her pitchers bag and it included Gorilla Grip which she indicated was legal in NCAA rules Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Twitter blowing up about 7th grade rankings

Extra Innings most certainly has 2-3-4+ way ties for the overall top 100 ranking. Maybe not for the position ranking for overall 100 ranking there’s more than 200 athletes on that list consistently. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Twitter blowing up about 7th grade rankings

The problem I have with the list is that the top 20 is usually 50 kids and the top 50 is usually 125 with all of the “ties”. So your top 100 is usually a 200+ list of kids whose parents buy a subscription to see their kids write up and post it on Twitter. Clever marketing ploy. Sent from my...

They should move back college fences

DD’s team opened the season on baseball fields refitted for softball. Fences were well beyond 220’ and anything in the gap was at least a double and more likely a triple for anyone with speed. Very few HR’s hit over the course of 25 games played by the teams at the invite but a heck of a lot of...

    Softball Crisis in 2025?

I’ve seen 5th years taking Covid years just to help with grad school tuition and really not putting forth the same effort in the program as undergrads. They’re along for the ride and taking advantage of the additional year’s worth of money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    instagram as a recruiting tool

I particularly dislike the “No Days Off!” Twitter posts with some video of hitting off of a tee or some gym lifting video that some PSA’s post every day. Oversaturation of mediocre content on Twitter leads to disinterest IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s pretty rough to not dress even for home games. I hope those players knew there was a chance of that happening otherwise that sounds ripe for transfer portal fodder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    NCAA Slapper rules are unfair

DD played at a D2 school this fall with fences that were 190’ down the line with a ton of grass behind the fence meaning it wasn’t a space issue. I’m glad she was able to keep the ball in the park that day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    The Wrist

I can totally relate to this. DD is a freshman pitcher at a D1 mid major and I can’t help but think that of all positions on the team she has the most to prove and to lose. There’s a heck of a lot more chances to fail as a pitcher than any other position out there. Even when she’s not pitching...
