    The 1B for the Alabama team who won the WCWS a few years ago wrote a book about the experience. She mentions that it was the job of an injured player to pick the other team's signs. She said they never would have won the WCWS without it.

    I'm of the opinion that when you want to be a part of something, you do everything that you can to show that you want to be a part of it. So, I would have DD wear something that represented the school. I would find something if she didn't already have it.

    Player B was most definitely caught stealing. How else would you score it? The other 2, I would have given an error, assigned to the P or C based on whether it was a passed ball or wild pitch.

    School has their rules. I'm cool with that. Softball is not something I am willing to take away. There are plenty of other things to be used as motivation.

    That is kind of the nature of HS sports sometimes. There are endless stories about how good players have to wait their turn and being better doesn't matter. Hopefully your DD gets the chance to prove she deserves to play.

    I agree with this 100%. I believe the lives of DD, my wife and I have all been better because of softball. I don't feel like we missed out on anything.
