    Bat drag

That’s because there no movement lol that’s what I am saying though, looking at one stage of a swing in a still and diagnosing it as bat drag doesn’t make sense

    Bat drag

Then looking at any video is a waste of time ... pro or amateur. FTR I didn’t post pics of MLB players to convince anybody that they have bat drag. I posted to pics to show that MLB hitters also get to this position.. it doesn’t always mean the hitter will drag the bat because the elbows...

    Bat drag

Demos generally exaggerate movements... especially when done in isolation. I am not saying JD had bat drag, but as you pointed out the elbows do lead the hands at a certain phase in his swing. And on some of his swings it is greater than others. This is not bat drag IMO.

    Bat drag

I'm just saying you can't just freeze at one frame and say bat drag(it's not really bat drag in this position.. nothing is being dragged IMO).. do you believe the OP's hitter in this thread overcomes the initial bat drag? Or does it continue one throughout the swing? I know a lot of people on...

    What does this tell you?

It tells me the hitter Is leveraging both legs... Very powerful movement. It allows the upper body to have something to resist against...

    Bat drag

Was your post with the other angle the same swing, the same AB?

    Bat drag

    Horrific Bat Drag!!

    Bat drag

My sarcasm is lost on you :), but this is precisely the point I was making in the other thread. People see elbows leading hands, instant bat drag diagnosis and how to fix it.

    Bat drag

    Horrific! A little dramatic

I made an edit to my post "Edit: It could also be a combination of both :). Controlling the move forward with your midsection while gravity does it's job "

    Haley

Could be.. you might be right. But I like to think about the midsection moving the hitter forward.. as TM said in his video.. the coil will become tighter as you move forward. I believe if we leave it all up gravity, you loose tension. If you move forward with your midsection it likes wringing a...

TM should stay off Twitter.. at least the battling part. That was a good video

    Haley

Learn to move forward with the midsection.. not by pushing with the back leg. The midsection will straighten the back leg. This will keep the hitter in their posture.. and prevent them from standing taller(up the slope) JMHO

Ohtani ... the struggle is real

I think its a good cue to keep eye on ball.. a lot of good things happen with head movement or lack there of when you do.. but I don't think a hitter can actually see the ball make contact with the bat :)

Ohtani ... the struggle is real

Yeah, I've never seen the ball off the bat in my life TBH. Then again I didn't make it to the majors, or anywhere close for that matter. But I read that as well.. our brain uses extrapolation to determine where the ball will be. That's why I don't understand Q's post on 82% of MLB hitters cannot...

Ohtani ... the struggle is real

Are the other 18% elite hitters? :)

    Thoughts on this swing

Personally makes no difference to me what they call it. It's action of identifying bat drag(or whatever you want to call it) when there is no bat drag(or whatever you want to call it)... and all the remedies to fix the action when it's not the problem

    Thoughts on this swing

Don't like making assumptions when we are talking about somebodies kid and how they should improve.. not saying you do either. But that's my point, don't assume

    Thoughts on this swing

I meant bat drag.. not arm bar LOL

    Thoughts on this swing

I agree Clem.. the point I am trying to make is we shouldn't always jump to conclusions .. amateur or pro. What I see happen a lot on here when we see a young girl or boy in this position ... it is classified as arm bar.
