Yep, willing to let it go. Sending a PM now....

    Regressing with practice

*Correction...He is a champion of brush interference. There are many quality PC's who champion brush interference.

    Gearing up

We have a phrase in the dirt biking world (racing and rec riding) - ATGATT, and I believe it applies to bucketdads(moms) as well. All The Gear All The Time!! You never know when or if...be prepared. ;-) Recovery gets slower along with reflexes as we age!

    I painted the softballs pink

I have dipped a few new softballs in a black dye. Half black/half optic yellow used for pitching and seeing the spin easier. It held up OK, faded some over time (still have them inn the hitting bucket o'balls. As we progressed working spins it became better for us (pitcher, catcher, Dad) to...

    Middle infield glove

AD - agree that these are great gloves and at a very tempting price for what you get BUT if these are as stiff as the PROS1000 I bought last fall it may be a bit much for the OP's 13yoDD (maybe not) as well as the hand stall is a bit larger than that All Star series in my admittedly very limited...

    Middle infield glove

i'll vouch for this...DD got an FGS7-PT this fall and loves it. Great leather and the Pro Guard palm padding is nice. At the regular retail it's a deal..every now and then it's on sale. !00 day free trial...why not?

LTB a used 33” Vinci catchers mitt.

Let me double check with DD. It's not getting used anymore (didn't even travel with her this weekend).

    Men's Fastpitch

Sorry dude I was just joking around, it was a lame attempt to yank your chain. Another example of where the text doesn't convey the right inflection and the sentiment gets lost in translation, even with the little winkie emoji. I was pretty sure you felt just as you describe above Bill. I...

    Men's Fastpitch

Bill - thanks for all the info and background on the men's game (not just here in this thread but over the years. We (my DD's) have been very fortunate to work with a number of coaches over the years (and still do) who played Men's Fastpitch. The knowledge and abilities they bring to the...

    Cracked?

yes,, we did see the shark teeth starting to form before it let loose. Was past warranty already so kept using it (at times) in BP

    Pitch Calling

pfffftt... Again - some days everything sucks and some days you shine. I believe that the goal of everyone involved is to get better, to be better than "random chance" with 50/50 odds. If paying attention to other factors in a game doesn't add any alpha to your performance then sure, give it...

    Cracked?

Now this is a crack... We broke two Ghosts (blue & yellow) in the past year. One was a team bat, the other was just past the one year warranty. FYI - we still have two Easton Mako bats from roughly 3 or 4 years ago that get used constantly for BP...as Core has said repeatedly 'those things...

    Pitch Calling

Thanks for the reply but I sincerely disagree with much of it. You seem to skip TB years 16 & 18? Is that because it doesn't fit neatly into your argument? And, I'd say that most decent 14yo pitchers are already competing on older aged teams as well. You say they should simply be allowed to...

    Pitch Calling

I sure wish some folks here would stop over-generalizing and declaring "absolutes" regarding so many things. Are we just supposed to give up on developing players or skills because it's a waste of time? Does a pitcher progressing from TB to College ball just suddenly become that much better...

    Pitch Calling

I thought this was great info from Amanda the first time I came across it. Share it with your Catchers also please and help develop their awareness, work with them along along the way as you assess each pitchers ability to work.

    beautiful mitt

Catchers mitt for 14u, $150 or less?

$134 is still a good price for a mitt as well built and widely accepted as that Rawlings Liberty Advanced. Go for it! edit to add: FWIW, my DD has the 34". She has average to slightly above sized hands. Honestly I'm not sure if there's a difference in the size of the hand/finger stalls...

Catchers mitt for 14u, $150 or less?

I wish I had that deal, sent mine to a guy in TX (Jeff R per Annasdad) for a full recon & relace after a couple years. The mitt was a bit more than the gloves. However, that was after I had repaired a few busted (original) laces on each of them a few times already. This was on two BV1929's...

Catchers mitt for 14u, $150 or less?

I'm with JDaddy here regarding the mesh back on the Vinci, never had a problem with it at all. The laces on every Vinci that my DD's have ever owned have been a problem however. My catcher DD moved on to a Liberty Advanced mitt which was originally bought as a backup to the Vinci. She started...

    What is your current Situation?

Question for you...when you say your DD has played her last season of TB but she is still a Sr in HS is that due to softball being a Spring sport in your state? It seems out here that most kids play TB through that summer between Senior year in HS and Freshmen year in College.
