    The pitcher on relays

Have the pitcher line up to cut the throw home for redirection. Let the catcher call when the ball gets cut or gets redirected, depending on whether the play can be made at home or not.

Closed loop vs Open loop motor actions

The closed-loop system is directly applicable to drills/training but is also a major part of your at-bat. I'm thinking the open loop almost needs a trigger to go directly to action. example... Dugout work (Pitcher tendencies) Pitch call to Pre pitch movements (including tells on grips) to...

Closed loop vs Open loop motor actions

I wanted to reach out to the forum to see if anyone is applying this type of process behind their swings. If so, how and why? I've recently heard about applying this to firearm and archery shooting and know it could be useful to batting, but haven't been able to put my finger on it.

    Team Merger

Each team has 1 A pitcher. That's why we were both B level teams, couldn't make it very deep on Sundays

    Team Merger

It would be a fairly seamless transition as far as positions. One team will bring 2 P, 2 MI/OF, 1 Corner, 1 OF.... the other 1 P, 2 catchers, 1 corner, 1 MI/OF, 1 OF

    Team Merger

Just for reference.... 2 B teams taking the best half of both to play a more competitive schedule.

    Team Merger

Just looking for some experiences with joining two teams together. How'd it go? Is it worth the growing pains to skip out on looking for players?

Responsibility of a coach when you see bad/different mechanics?

I'm mostly in the camp of, if you have a private instructor and the parents are happy then leave it alone and there are multiple ways to skin a cat, but this particular player has no sequence at all and has issues with timing. I've suggested incorporating either a step or pre-load (small...

Responsibility of a coach when you see bad/different mechanics?

If a parent is paying a hitting instructor, is it a coach's responsibility to say those mechanics are a hindrance to their daughter's progression as a batter?

How do you handle an umpire who disregards certain rules?

Wrong. Again, I'm going to reiterate the reason for my post. How do coaches handle their message to their team when the players are frustrated with calls being made during the game? I made no mention of quick pitching or how they had an unfair advantage, in fact, went on to say it was a moot...

How do you handle an umpire who disregards certain rules?

She wasn't bringing her hands back together. She would step on the mound separated and transition into her pitching motion.

How do you handle an umpire who disregards certain rules?

I appreciate the replies, but I think it got a little sideways. I agree the 1 umpire system is tough, but in my area, during the winter it's about all you get. It's a tough job and I have the utmost respect for anyone giving up their time so the girls have the opportunity to play. If I have an...

How do you handle an umpire who disregards certain rules?

I never told my girls the reason we lost was due to bad calls. I said sometimes you get the calls and sometimes you don't, along with the fact that the opposing team made some great, timely plays.

How do you handle an umpire who disregards certain rules?

She was violating 6a E per USA. I typically do not dwell on what the umpire does or doesn't call as I tell my girls not to leave it up to the umpire and try to be very mindful of how I react. In the end, the pitching was a moot point as we hit very well. Once he said he wouldn't call it, we all...
