My biggest issue with chasing is that you are giving up bases everywhere else in the field.
If the defensive player is able to take a couple of steps and put the tag on, that is not chasing.
As soon as you are running at a player that is 10 plus feet away from you, no one is going to catch...
In my opinion and experience having players run at runners while trying to throw is a recipe for bad throws. Feet aren’t set and most of the time you are throwing over top runners. Some throws even hit the runners. Even if the defensive player makes a good throw then the player catching it has...
I teach rundowns the same way I did as a baseball coach. My guess is that is 100% opposite of almost everyone here.
We do not chase runners with the ball unless we can put a tag on immediately. If my defensive player is unable to put a tag on the runner she clears herself to get a throwing...
Well her velocity has really increased the last week, but her control has gone away.

I appreciate the analysis. Whats funny is she has never been taught throw with HE, everything has been IR but as she gets to more high intensity throwing the arm definitely muscles up. She had mark on her hip last night from the Brush Interference. Just need that arm to relax to get more whip...

Well this a few pitches from the other night. Simply working on moving off the pitching...

Not sure why she was moving her feet the way she was. We just got done doing the 2-step drill, so that would be my guess.
Any thoughts to make her relax her during the circle?
We used to drill getting open during the stride, but as a I re-read the Drive mechanics sticky we just started...
