Make that dad carry his own bag and walk for 18 holes. I walked 9 holes yesterday with a push cart and I have a new found respect for pros that walk 18 four days in a row.
Don't forget all the HS team fundraising you have to do for each sport. My kids were always hauling around sign up sheets for wrapping paper, bread, peanuts, coffee, etc and boxes of chocolates. I am so glad I am done with it all, and I am no longer the President of the Booster Club after 4...
I am in this boat. You should have a pretty good idea of how many tourneys you intend to play, field rental, cage time on rainy days, paid coaches, uniforms/gear, etc. Do some math and budgeting to figure out the per player costs. Might be harder for those start up teams, but many of the...
Interesting Idea. I could see a team doing these at every tournament. Have a parent in charge of the poster and carry it field to field with an easel behind the dugout or stands. $5 a chance for a weekly winner. Announce the winner when the team gets knocked out or wins the tourney. Heck, I...
Sounds like my golf game. One day I totally figured out my driver, but my short game goes to Sh$t. Next time my short game is on point, then I start hitting hozzle rockets with my short irons. It's like spinning plates!
BUT your DD practices her craft way more than I do, and she is still...
9 of 10 times you should hit the cut off rather than throw home. I got so tired of seeing the trail runner sitting on 2nd after an outfield single. We would have had a better chance at getting the runner out trying to get to 2nd than getting the out at home.
I loved seeing the CF overthrow...
The whole pic posting of receiving mail is a stretch. DD would be posting all the time if she posted all the mail she rec'd. The FOMO is real. Who remembers Dr. Seuss' The Star Bellied Sneetches? Who ends up with all the money?
How about we discuss the Title of the post? I see no mention of winning anywhere in this thread or maybe I missed it.
Soooo....the Juco team has no coach? The fall season is super important for Juco recruiting since they will typically play schools in other divisions to get seen. Isn't...
I was confused as well. So the SEARK softball does not have a coach?
Juco's should be practicing by now and starting the fall season. Wouldn't there be some interaction with the players and the coaches by now?
DD had a TB teammate that played one season for Chipola not sure what happened. I don't think she was built for that program. @riseball DD's played for them for 2 season and went on to South Carolina and I think led them to a Natty. That's all I know other than their ETSU debacle.
See how...
My exact thoughts. At this age they are still learning how the game works. It's all about making it fun for the kids. They will naturally improve and develop as a result of reps and having fun with it. I wouldn't be too concerned about exact mechanics. Moreso, are they moving in the right...
