Just curious, what is the best way to find tournaments in your area. IE different organizations, and planning then out for a schedule.

That will vary by age and region. Here in Oklahoma, for the younger ages (about 12u and down) USSSA is the most played sanction. The USSSA website and Oklahomaball.com will have enough tournaments listed to keep most teams busy. For teams looking to travel out of state, you have to get a bit more creative.
Younger ages there should be a regional facebook group that advertises tourneys.
14U-16U-18U there is typically a circuit of tourneys which happens every year. Fall ball invites, warm ups, showcases, gold cup, National type. Summer--Warm up, Invitationals(Top Gun, Hotshots, Scenic City, etc. then it gets into the Various National events--Colorado, TCS Nat's (and directional-SE, Southern, Western), JO Cup, USA Nationals(variou versions), Alliance, PGF. Rinse and Repeat. Many of these events are on team's calendars a year in advance and have also been paid for.
