Some schools have workouts on Saturdays, and HS teams in California can participate in Saturday only HS tournaments-- that are approved by CIF.

In OK the biggest issues come during the late spring when the TB scene starts to pickup for 16u and above and HS slowpitch is winding down with the state tournament. Many kids are pressured to play slowpitch since the fastpitch and slowpitch coaches are often the same. Lots of contention between TB clubs and slowpitch coaches…
In the Fall almost all HS age TB clubs go silent until HS fastpitch is done (mid/late OCT), although it isn’t a rule.

In Illinois, we play 34 games in a season and play tournaments. The team I help coach plays DH on Saturdays.
Northern Southeastern Never Heard of U will be there along with College of Last Resort.

As you know first hand this usually makes HS ball a Mon-Sat commitment, weather permitting, at most schools. The biggest issue with HS ball in many parents and player's eyes is the disparity in talent levels at different schools. This can sway many players thinking when it comes playing HS ball. In some areas of the state there are conferences that are full of high-level travel players making the HS season very competitive and others that are more or less recreation league playing level.
In the Chicago area there is a program every spring that takes players who've decided to not play HS ball for whatever reason and creates a "league" for the spring time. The players are divided up into multiple teams and they play each other on the weekends. They've been doing this for several years now. I know sometimes they will play a tournament is Iowa since Iowa does HS in the summer.
NCAA dead period until the first weekend in June.
But yeah D3’s aren’t out recruiting in spring.
CA also prohibits HS play or practice on Sundays, ie one mandatory day of rest per week.
