Best glove size for an 11 year old pitcher/outfielder, 5'2? Using a 12inch youth now but the pocket seems small with the bigger ball.

Glove company recommended a regular, not youth, said only difference is opening size.

Should she stick with a 12 inch or go to 12.25 inches or 12.5 inches?

12" is fine for pitching. If she is looking to use just one glove to play OF and pitching then she may want to go to 12.5".
Maybe keep the 12" she has for when she pitches and get her an OF glove for when she plays out there.
There is no rule that someone has to use just 1 glove

I've done exactly what Schmick has stated, DD is 1st year 12U this fall, she uses her 12' for pitching and MI and went to a 12.5' for when she plays OF. that .5 made a huge difference in her confidence alone to field fly balls. Just my $0.02....

From 14U up every TB team I've been a part of, the girls who played multiple positions, outfield and (?), they all had two separate sized gloves!

This is very good advice. My 5'0" 11-year-old just had a nightmarish first tryout for 12U the other night and dropped four out of five fly balls that were to her. She attributed it to her 11.5 glove, and maybe she was right. I feel like a tool now for not properly preparing her. Off to search for good 12.5" gloves.

Same boat here. My DD used her 12 inch glove to pitch and infield. Bought a used 12.5 inch glove for of and to her it makes a difference, maybe it's the deeper pocket...

Tons of fun for that glove collection.

My 12yo is 5’4. She pitches and plays 3rd and SS. We got her a 12.5 this fall and she loves it.

my daughter keeps asking for smaller, and like you, i figured she have some margin of error. So we settled in on 12".
but shes still asking for smaller. but she plays infield, and most of the plays are grounders to her, so she wants short and shallow.

@ANNASDAD, i never asked you this? what glove size they use?

11.75” and 12” for infield, and 90% 12.75” for outfield.

And a couple girls used a larger 12.25” glove at 3B.
