I think the only coaching job close to as bad was Murph in WCWS. Sat Fouts after the perfect game and offense took way too many first pitch strikes. I have it from a great source that OU was prepping for Bama the entire time and were shocked they lost.

If Lexi Kilfoyl had been blown out of the water, I could agree with this notion that Murphy made a poor choice. However, Kilfoyl held FSU to a respectable 2 runs and the problem was that Alabama didn't score at all.

👉should gather 80-100-200? players that train purposely for the next 4 years for the opportunity to be on that roster of 15.

Agree in theory, but how are these 80-200 people going to make a living during those 4 years? If I'm the 100th best U.S. Olympic softball prospect in the world, am I willing to compromise my professional career to train for something that might not pay off? I don't know the details of the Japanese pro league, but if these players can make a decent living, that's a big advantage. Not many U.S. college players get the chance to develop to their potential because only a few continue to play after college.

Have held back on directly saying this...here goes.

Knowing the first olympic team was pretty much already selected, eventhough they still held tryouts...
'nuff said there...

here is my suggestion to grow Olympic softball yep I guess I'm stepping up on this.

We have some selected top head coaches instructors trainers facilitate the group.
These are broken into teams that play eachother to compete/tryout against eachother for a spot.

Kind of like a professional softball league where players are paid enough to live on.

You rarely see MLB teams bench players who aren't hitting well after 5 games of a 7-game series.

agree, in that scenario a player probably wouldn't be benched,
but dropped from #3 to #8 in the order and/or pinch hit for after going 0-2 in a game?
Absolutely...

If you're saying that the hitters are all about the same (which I'm not conceding), then sure, let them all play and use those that appear to be performing the best. I doubt that's the case, but if so, then coach accordingly.

My stance is mainly that going 0-for-9 on a team that's hitting .200 isn't that alarming, and not typically enough to bench a player that you believe to be superior. Small sample size. You rarely see MLB teams bench players who aren't hitting well after 5 games of a 7-game series. But again, it all depends on your confidence in ranking your hitters.
Rachel Gsrcia got two at bats, ome hit and one hard hit ball. How may who played even but a ball in play? And don't get me started on pulling Bubba Nickels for a someone who looked lost trying to bunt...

If I recall there some web gems that kept it from being worse.

I am pretty positive we did not bring our best hitters. The pitching was great but dead ball or not I think we had some players that could have hit it out.

I love Munro behind the plate, love her look, love her energy. Having said that, she’s almost a guaranteed out, a wasted AB, her last AB in the Gold game, she looked silly, I almost felt sorry for her at how ridiculous she looked!
I agree, Munro is an amazing catcher but she really shouldn’t of been in the batting lineup. You could tell she wasn’t able to keep up with the pitching. I’m sorta confused as to why she was even in the batting lineup to begin with. The whole point of the stand beside her tour was to prepare for the Olympics and throughout that tour you could tell that Munro wasn’t real great at hitting the ball.
