Although I see where you're coming from here, I couldn't disagree more with your 12" glove in the outfield is plenty! Let's take two really great 12" models, a Rawlings Pro206 HOH and a Wilson A2000 DW5, these are NOT suitable outfield gloves for baseball, much less softball. And yes a great outfielder could use them but why would they?

You're welcome to disagree with me all you like. I was just giving my opinion and if my opinion based on playing thousands of games and coaching for 25 years bugs you I'm sorry. Its extraordinairly rare to find a coach who teaches how to properly catch a ball or a player who understands that. An extra three quarters of an inch means absolutely nothing. Unless you manage a snow cone the tips of your glove should never touch a ball anyway. You can also throw away all the internet nonsense on kip,horween....... Leathers. By glove you are 100% comfortable with not with the consensus think and go have a good time.

Comparing a female to a top of their class male also means nothing. Again that's my opinion.

You feel better now?

Children 9-12 years old are allowed to wear a glove size of 11 to 11.50 inches and children entering their teens can wear 10.50 to 11.50 inch gloves.

All of the middle infielders on my kids 16U team are using 11.5" baseball gloves whether they're playing 2nd or Short.
4 of the 5 Outfielders use 12.5" gloves in the OF.

If looking at 11.5" or 11.75" baseball gloves (A2000) I would recommend the Pedroia Fit gloves, formerly called DP15 gloves. That glove is made for smaller hands/wrists

As for baseball, Mookie Betts is a.pretty solid OF, the MB50 glove he uses is a 12.5. The Josh Hamilton glove also was 12.5". It is true that most baseball outfielders do use 12.75" gloves but they are covering a ton more space than fastpitch outfielders are. Wilson had a 12.75" fastpitch OF glove but I don't know that they still offer that one, they have two 12.5" gloves that are pretty common and 13" slow pitch glove

I agree with this, right tool for the job! Every girl who plays both infield & outfield on our showcase team has two different gloves. If you don't want to go that route, I recommend a 12" glove minimum.

I have one daughter that plays infield and an occasional outfield. She has an 11.75 for infield & 12.5 outfield.

if she’s going to be an infielder go with the 11.75. Glove/throwing hand transfer is important.
