In my opinion and experience having players run at runners while trying to throw is a recipe for bad throws. Feet aren’t set and most of the time you are throwing over top runners. Some throws even hit the runners. Even if the defensive player makes a good throw then the player catching it has an obstructive view because the throw is going over the head/shoulder of the runner.

No, you RUN HARD AT HER, make her turn her hips and commit to going back, then make the throw, or chase her down!
