I am not a Teacherman guy but this makes a lot of sense. And he doesn't use absolutes, pretty much saying players can have different tempos.

he did use an absolute. He said you need to be fully loaded at pitch release. NOT! The COM needs to be advancing during release! Which starts the torso loading process.

what he is so clumsily trying to describe is the inner rubber band that takes the slack out from the front hip to the back shoulder which is different for everyone; that ‘tempo’ or real loading(loose mover vs stuff mover)is done by foot down. Not pitch release. At least in the best patterns.

maybe this pertains to his students. But it doesn’t match the best.

What I tell Marcela is that she shouldn’t feel rushed..which probably doesn’t mean much unless you know what not feeling rushed feels like 🤨 But hey, you get what you pay for right? 😅

Tango, are you familiar with the two plate drill? While doing front toss, you set up two plates in line with the front tosser. The hitter then takes 3 swings from the front plate and the 3 from the back and continues to rotate. The purpose of this drill is to help hitters work on timing and adjustability.

Yes sir but do it with 3 plates. She kills it normally off me.

Here is what Richard says about it. Doing this helped Haley do a better job of timing the pitchers.

What I was looking for. Thanks! Had seen bits and pieces of the information. Would loading once the hands get to three o’clock be a starting point for softball? Understand not an absolute

Have not studied TM a lot but I think, he talks about forward movement while still loaded in the back hip. Foot down is not something he teaches. I think he talks about switching the foot down.

He drives the experts and us (students of the game) crazy by teaching the swing puts the front foot down.

Someone mentioned it earlier. She gets a good stretch but then sometimes has a second stretch. When hot only one stretch. Timing not a stretch problem, IMO.

I noticed today that she tends to let her top hand wrist go limp/down at contact. Palm up- if she pointed her fingers towards the pitcher-she would point down to her feet. Turns the barrel good but then doesn’t follow the knob late. Not timing.

Timing is about being dynamically balanced.. So one needs to be stretching until swinging.
