I see so few Demarini‘s now. They used to be EVERYWHERE. I’m sure they are quite serviceable but it just doesn’t seem to be what players currently want.

Ghosts and LXT’s....... Won’t start an argument about how many of each but Easton really grabbed the market back in a big way.
Demarinis seem to dominate the younger age levels and the ghosts and LXTs start to take over at late 12U and 14U from what I have seen

I admit I sure haven’t seen much 10’s or 12’s the last few years.

I have always though Demarini is really smart to make high quality sub-30” bats. I has to be kind of expensive, but “hook ’em on the brand early” seems like a good idea.

Agree - They seem to have figured it out when it comes to the smaller lighter bats for the younger kids

According to articles I have read, in particular "Bat Digest", girls choose bats based more on appearance and sound rather than performance. As for Demarini slappers, the weight is moved toward the connection not TO the hands, but toward the hands. All of the CF8's and CF9's are at the light end of the spectrum, the slappers the lightest. I din't Care what comprranle bat you ate talking about, if the end-load high swing weight bat is best then why waste your time; the PXT is cheap now.

I think it is age dependent. We just finished our first fall of 12’s playing on a 2nd year team. Most teams, including ours, seem to use ghost advanced, lxt, or prisms. Dd is still using a cf9 but working on transitioning to a power carbon. Both years of 10’s it seemed like we saw about 90% cf’s.

I’m still seeing plenty of Demarini’s. Some Rawlings mixed in but definitely more Ghosts, LXT’s & Xeno’s than anything else.

Well, their drop11 smaller sizes have the biggest barrels over any other model and closer to
sticker, lots of times under weight (Mizuno may be close in both but can be had way cheaper ;)).
So think parents looking for a 30" or under bat steer that way because of those 2 points.

I feel approximately 11-23% dumber after reading Batdigest.com

I don’t have a Demarini Slapper. But my dad did drive a ‘63 Rambler to work in the early 80’s. Seems like about the same deal: both discontinued, not all that fondly remembered and nobody really looking to bring them back.

A side note to this thread. In some recent testing the 2021 LXT was 2MPH higher on exit velo than Ghost Adv.The FNX & Xeno we’re also right there with Advanced to my surprise.
I like the Adv but I don’t like the price. There are cheaper options out there that are very competitive with Easton both in performance & price.

Makes sense to me that the slapper wasn't a big seller. What % of players are left handed? Sure some teams load up on them, but my DD team has 0 and most teams we face have 0-3. It was marketed to lefties as for a slapper with lefty grip. And of course not every lefty is going to swing Demarini so that market is just very small to start with.

Never had a slapper, but do have the extended xD, which I'm pretty sure is more less a slapper repaint, with goofy adjustable knob and righty grip. Also, have a CF both 33/23 and both actual weight spot on at 23. If balance the two next to each, the CF balance point is maybe a cm further down barrel. Similarly the drop 11 LXT (actual wt also 23) is another cm down the barrel compared to the CF. Just saying the XD and CF are pretty close to each other. My DD hits best with the XD, but likes the prism best which is about 23.4 oz and that balance point even slightly more down the barrel than that lxt so heaviest swinging of the group.
