Hows your attitude when showing up to the field?!

Attitude is a mindset we can grow in a positive direction.
It can influence greatly our self esteem, our confidence, and pressence as a player.
As a team can be a dramatic impact on the outcome of our day!
Encourage the conversation
about a positive mindset!
Its a decision we make!

Heres an old poem i wrote to a team that had emotions and some junk effect the dynamic.
Sometimes we just have to address this,
heres how i did.

'I'd rather be'~
I'd rather be trying than crying
I'd rather be powerful than pitiful
I'd rather have faith than be fake
I'd rather be RAD than be mad
I'd rather try, be powerful, faithful, and RAD, than cry, be pitiful, fake and mad.

It is a statement of positive mindset! 👍

~RAD is my acronym for
Ready And Durable :)

Seen kids try to force this, I am not sure how it is taught but I have tried with mixed success.

Hard not like a player that just wants to out there. Shy kid that makes a mistake and tries to hide in an open field. No where too hide girl.

Other player at SS ball goes between her legs, very vocal about the bad bounce.

Always fun.

A positive mindset,
perhaps in its simplest form,
is
~Looking for something good in every situation.
The more we see the good the more we receive something positive in our day.

Example
Eventhough we did not score more than the other team,
We scored more than we ever did!

Of course addressing how to improve is necessary to grow.

Approach
The best thing we know about that error is how to do it right.
Knowing that, we have a goal we know we can accomplish.

How we approach things is a decision!

Here's a fun phrase
"Adversity strengthens our mental muscle!"

I always thought RAD was short for Radical. LOL
Try eliminating the words don't, won't, and can't from your coaching vocab. Try it. It is not easy and requires effort.
