Two birds killed with one swing :)

Seriously though.. are their any certainties in a baseball swing?

his bar is more after he sees pitch and commits. Griff jr was a bit earlier. Knob to catcher. 🙂

Thanks W,
IMO When speaking of arm bar.. nobody is saying that it's a problem if a hitter arm bars during the stretch.. it's after launch that is continuously debated.

EFB already pointed this out (Knob to the catcher).. I'm posting a very good hitter which does not. More than one way to get it done.. and if a lot of instructors seen a kid walk in the door with Acuna's mechanics, regardless of results, first thing they would say is "knob to catcher".. and that's unfortunate

If we took the uniform off this guy and said he was a HS player all the gurus would have a lot of criticism. His swing is really pretty simple. gets on plane early, quiet eyes/head, uses both legs

Precisely....and because the things you mentioned above it should be one of the easier swings to duplicate

yeah, just agreeing that hardly ANYTHING is an absolute in hitting. TDS always points out there are different movement patterns. Trying to find the ‘engine‘ to a swing helps things along I think.

Having an armbar and still staying inside the ball is very difficult (Acuna had 188 Ks) and requires great timing and a little guessing but can be very effective. I have tried to hit the ball with an armbar. I can't do it.

Does Acuna always arm bar? I doubt it

I arm barred quite often.. however I hit from the left side of the plate and I am right handed. I honestly believe it's much easier to do and be successful when your leading side(side closes to the pitcher) is your dominant side
