Don't know him, or have witnessed his behavior, but I will take your word on it. One of their teams actually left and joined DD's org last year.
I find is a bit ironic that he talks about all this "Iron sharpens iron" and make things the best for the "families" and "why are egos involved" when just this past weekend he took his team to play out of state while the Ronald McDonald tournament was going on in his backyard. He could have gotten all the iron he wanted about 30 minutes from his house but chose to go out of state instead. Why? Because the Ronald McDonald is more aligned with the Alliance than with PGF? But his ego had nothing to do with that decision, right? Lol.....

So am I to assume he isn't on your Xmas card list?

I was just about to say the very same thing. There were some pretty awesome teams that made their way to Houston, and I was wondering where the HS were. They were busy playing themselves in the Championship game on the East coast. Tried to do a quick google search to see who was in the tourney. Couldn't really find anything. PGF Diamond Direction Invitational if anyone wants to provide a link or bracket.

Usssa does this in my area. Teams stay home play small tournaments with no competition then nationals role around and they go thinking they are the #1 seed and get their a** kicked

I see some nice teams in that tourney, but C'mon Man! That's a long way to travel just to avoid playing in RMcD. I guess Nathan and Mel got kicked out of the softball Illuminati. I have noticed over the past several years that they were nowhere to be seen at tourneys they should have been playing in. There must be some Hotshots/PGF partnership and this is where the whining is coming from. I personally like the idea of the Alliance fastpitch program that culminates into a College World Series type of Finale with teams that weren't hand picked or invited but rather earned their way out of the Super Regionals. PGF in all reality only really caters to the two weeks of Summer Nationals. I don't see PGF running weekend tourneys in the Houston area unless it's a qualifier.

... or they are very calculated about which "Nationals" they attend so that they can finish very high, or win, and post it all over FB.

I find this quite humorous. The parents are so used to winning their rinky dink tourneys and think they are gonna dominate. My DD's first 10U ASA Southern "B" Nationals was quite eye opening for us. We were an All star team that held our own for the most part winning some hardware in most everything we entered. We did not dominate and I did not think we would do very well. But dang, these real deal tourney teams that seemed like they hit everything thrown their way and those swings were awesome. We went 0-fer, but it was a great experience for the girls and parents to see what it's like in the real TB world. Two years later (DD skipped her 2nd year 12U)we played in the 14U Southern B Nationals and we got 3rd place. There was a Firecracker team there from Oklahoma that I am pretty sure disbanded after they lost their 2nd game.

I looked into the points structure for the alliance because I didn't know how it worked. From what I gather, points are accrued in the individual leagues CFL, TFL, etc. In CFL, pool games and friendlies count but bracket count much more. Also, finishing results reward even more points. Of note, it is only the top 15 games that count towards your point total and eligibility for AFCS. This will allow teams to still approach friendlies as "throw aways" as most likely 15 friendlies "wins" will be easily outscored by bracket and tournament finishes.

There's a lot to digest regarding points, but that was my first impression.
