I'd get carpal tunnel and be retired before I could type out all the crazy trainwrecks I've witnessed. Fastpitch is awesome except when it isn't.

I don't think people would even believe it.

Was AC on a TB team and noticed an unfamiliar face on LF fence directing our OF to move up/back. I walked out and asked him not to talk to our girls, that we would have them move if needed. He turned and swung at me. Hit the bill of my cap. He was hammered. Stumbling after me trying to fight. TD had him removed from the park.

Turns out, he was a dad from other team and was bothering them so his wife sent him to our side. I guess it seemed like a good plan at the time.

12U. Opposing team parents are pretty rowdy.

Our team has walk-out music and the parents start making fun of a girl for walking out to the Eminem Mom's spaghetti song. Just ripping her about her dumb song choice.

Ump tells them to be quite. Mom goes off on a "You don't know me!" tirade on the ump.

Ump turns to the opposing coach and tells him to control his parents.

Coach says "Please, keep it down guys."

Rowdy parents explode at Coach. Screaming at him the rest of the game. Ump never kicks anyone out. Such and awkward 30 minutes.

That was the last game that org had a 12U team. Team disbanded after that.

We won like 17-0. Rowdy parent's kid was opposing pitcher and for some reason(sarcasm) she couldn't keep her cool and walked like 12 batters.

This happened two years ago. I didn't see this happen, but I had to get involved in since I am on the Sportsmanship committee for our Rec league. 1st games for these 8u teams and a younger dad starts in on the umpire on a call. Apparently, he thinks this is baseball and those same rules apply to an 8U softball game. Granpa standing down the fence tells him to keep it down or they will throw him out of the game. Next thing you know they are jawing back and forth and young dad takes a swing at Granpa. Chaos ensues. The brawl gets broken up with Granpa cussing up a storm causing the other games to come to a halt with all the kids freaking out. Come to find out they are on the SAME team and didn't know it. GEEZ! We decided to ban both guys from the fields for the rest of the year.

First year in TB (10U) at ASA Nationals. End of the last game, 2 of the ACs start yelling at each other in the dugout. 3rd AC gets involved, and the 3 of them proceed to call out the flaws in each others kids, complete with f-bombs.

12U U-trip tournament at a Big League Dreams park. Our loudmouth parent is also drunk as hell, and starts barking at the ump. While standing on the field, the ump challenged him to a fight.

I've told this story a few times...
14U PGF Premier Nationals with coaches from Indiana, Purdue, Oregon, and Patty Gasso from Oklahoma watching. Two parents come to the dugout during the middle of the game, and pull their kids out. One of the moms was screaming obscenities at the coaches the whole time. Apparently, they were upset over playing time.

We have had nothing as crazy as the above - thank goodness.

What we have seen is one time just before the game started the opposing team was doing their warm up and when the catcher went to do her throw down to 2nd she threw it straight into the back of the pitchers head who had turned toward the outfield. That ended up in an ambulance and no game obviously.

We have played a championship game in 100 degree heat with 9 players and the short stop had a bloody nose for about the last 4 innings with a tampon stuffed up her nose and went into 2 international tie breakers. I don't think any of the parents took a full breath for about an hour haha.

One time we were in a tournament where my daughter was about the #3 pitcher on the team and was only getting about 2-3 innings a tournament most weekends. But one Sunday on about 3rd game of the day they started her and she was throwing really well so the coaches left her in. This was the game after lunch and the #1 pitcher's parents had gone out to lunch and had drinks and maybe continued in the parking lot I think. But about the 5th inning when my daughter went back out on the field yet again this woman decided to march into the dug out to demand to know if her daughter was done pitching for the day??!! Needless to say my daughter got to finish the game hahaha

i was coaching a 6U rec team. Our league rules were three pitches and then two attempts from a tee for 5yo's while 6yo's lost the tee after the middle of the season. In the league tourney while pitching to my DD the umpire called DD out for not hitting the 5th pitch. The problem was it was the 4th pitch. I politely asked him and he said no that was 5. I asked the field ump who I know and he said he couldn't overturn him on that. I told the plate ump the girls are 6 and they can count to five. I turned to walk away and he called me a F'ing A-hole. He was standing directly between my DD going to the dugout and my next hitter walking to the plate. At that point I lost it simply because he used that language in front of the girls. Poor guy then had the moms from both teams screaming at him. I honestly did not think he would make it to the car after the game.

On another occasion a few years later an ump cussed me just for telling him nice call. Granted he had absolutely blown the last one and we had discussed it but I was at least trying to be nice. The fans and coaches from both of our teams thought it was great.

My daughter who worked her butt off on her own time after barely pitching that year IS still playing and starting her freshman year at an NAIA school. I am NOT sure about the other pitcher. She was playing in the outfield of a great HS program a few years ago due to a few better pitchers being on that team. Missed her senior year due to Covid and is going to a D2 in our area, I have yet to see if she is going out for softball there team or not, and if so as a pitcher or not.
