Hello. We are going to a couple tournaments coming up. One is in Kansas and the other is in Missouri. Both tournaments have teams coming from multiple states. How can I go about scouting them before we play against them? We will both have our first gane tomarrow at 930am. Is there any tricks of the trade to get the scoop on these teams? I looked up the usssa rankings for some of the teams in the past. Some are pgf teams. How do I scout pgf teams? I tried to find rankings on the pgf site but didnt have any luck.

Type their name into Facebook. They probably have a page. You may not see their record there necessarily, but you can see the girls, where they're committed (if 16U or 18U), posts re: tournament wins, etc...

Do a search for team on YouTube. I’ve picked up several pitchers’ tendencies by watching YouTube videos.

For teams registered in Usssa I would typically do the following for larger National tournaments if I had a month or so to prepare:

Check out the "Vs. Class" first. This has a breakdown of the wins per age group and classification.

You said this is 12u so I'd look to see how they did against. Gives wins and losses.
11U
12A
12B
12C
If playing up
13U
14B
14A

Power ranking and Points ranking. See how they rank in home state / nationally.

Look to see the records of the last five teams played. See how these rank with the same info.

Should be able to get a feel of where your team stacks up in the tournament. (Top, middle, bottom)

As mentioned previously FB can have games recorded and youtube on occasion. Usually the camera angles aren't ideal for pitch location so MI positioning and seeing what the corners do reacting to slapping and bunting helps.

For more in detail coaching info on how to handle individual players..
Check out the player profiles and see if any have "AAG tab" for tryout info. This typically has the following. 20yd., 40yd., 5-10-5 times. Fielding, Pitching, Catching, and Batting scores. Hit exit speed.

I've also contacted the rival teams that routinely played the teams registered in tournaments we're playing in. Most rival coaches will fill you in on players to avoid pitching to and the tendencies of these coaches, pitchers you're facing ETC..
