My experience is girls that like the Ghost will hate any Demarini bat. The ghost and LXT are Cadillic Bats. They miss hit them and they don't feel a thing.

A 31” bat seems big for a 10 yr. old. I have some decent size kids on my 10U team and none of them are in a 31” bat yet. I think only one of them even swings a 30” yet.

If she likes the ghost I would stay with the ghost in a 30”.

Both my girls used a 30" Demarini CF8 -11 bat at 9yo. 31" -11 CF8 at 10, and a 32" -10 Xeno at 12.

I’m sure there are some girls that can swing them at that age, but I think in most cases that it’s too big. But what do I know, there are girls who have one bat for slow pitchers and one bat for fast pitchers which I would never recommend.

Edited to add: I swung a 32” bat as an 18-year-old college player.

That was probably 27 or 28 oz though, no?
32/29 if I remember correctly. It was the first year college went to the drop 3.

Everyone always worries about the weight of the bat, but the length will get you too. If you have a longer bat and some bat drag in your swing already, it just makes the bat drag worse. I guess I shouldn’t generalize so much, but in my experience it seems like every kid I meet has a bat that is too big for them at the younger ages.

We've had 2 more days of hitting and this is where we are.

Based on a size chart I found, she should be able to handle a 31. She is 5' and 116 pounds.

She gets more carry with the Zen but it doesn't really explode off the bat. Last night with her teammate's 30/19 Ghost, she hit one so hard off the pitching screen in front of her coach even his jaded self was taken back for a minute.

She now wants a 31" Dual Ghost and that is probably what we will end up doing. We will still hit both this weekend in her games weather permitting.

Sounds like you have a big kid. Just be aware that a 5 ft tall 10yo generally has a very different strength component than an older more mature girl at that same height and weight. There are many many threads on here asking why their kid hit so well with a big bat in rec league or c level travel and then suddenly can't hit when they stepped up a level. Just take everything into consideration and don't be afraid to buy another bat and put this one away for a year or so if it doesn't work out. My kiddo is 5ft 5 115lbs freshman that is all muscle especially right now that she's playing soccer. She is cut with a 6 pack and arms to die for and she swings a 32 drop 10 at the highest level available to her.
