Well... the real problem is actually the cop took a human life.

But there are plenty of things messed up in the world today, that's for sure.
So sad for many reasons. That man should not have been killed. Unfortunately that tragedy has left the news.

Good chance none of This is Us have ever witnessed what to they are protesting.

Coached an inner city Police Athletic League team one year where the kids had never held a baseball before. The kids were awesome; never saw a parent at a game; the bureaucracy sucked and I was basically the only one that did not live in their hell-hole wandering the streets with them.

The problems are much deeper than any one will admit. The politicians; educators and media don't dare go there or tell the truth. If they can keep up the sensationalism, they can keep the real truth and their callousness buried.

Every issue in the US has become a game of political football and the end result if we don't stop the idiocy is that everybody is going to lose. Now if you all don't mind, I'd like to go back to bitching about my DD.. 😉

Absolutely!!! Keep ignoring it and throw money at the problems. That'll fix it.

For the past 3 weekends kids have been killed by stray bullets in Chicago. There have been literally 100's shot with about 20% of them fatally. I've not seen any large protests over these innocent kids being murdered.

A small group of community leaders got about 30 seconds of air time on a local news channel. Not sensational enough to be a lead story.

This! No one has been looking forward to Olympic softball more than me, and I assume Michelle Smith will be calling games? The first time racism and this whole Scrapyard BS is brought up, the TV will be turned off and I’ll go cut grass! I won’t be lectured!

T@flash277

As my stepdad taught me after too many years toiling with Tim McCarver rambling on channel 9 calling Mets games..."you know you can watch that with the sound off?"

The politicization of sports is akin to someone shooting themselves in the foot. Does anybody think it is a good idea to alienate half of your fan base while attempting to promote and grow the game and possibly your future income.
To all professional athletes:
First of all, I do not care or wish to know about how you FEEL about anything. Please shut up and stand up for the National Anthem and entertain us with your athletic abilities. After all, you are generally not very intelligent anyway. Do this for the greater good. Thanks.

Go ahead and close this thread......perfectly stated!! I would say that's not too fair with the intelligence comment, but in this case I'm pretty sure you nailed it!

I don't care that athletes using their status to protest things off the field, let them march and make statements on social platforms all they want, but when they kneel and make political statements on the field, that's when I'll turn off the games. They seem to not realize that sports is probably the only great unifying thing in this country. Fans of all races, religions, political affliations, can ban together to root for their teams, or hate the Patriots and Yankees. That's why these softball players are a bunch of dopes, they don't realize their actions are hurting the pro softball community.
