Congrats to @CoachDanBlewett ; - that’s a pretty good pull to get them both on, given that their Twitter feud has been going on a for at least a few months.
I've not been on twitter for a long time now (and never for the hitting garbage anyway), but after watching most of it...it didn't seem like that much of a pull given the two huge egos, with both just eager to continue their feud in a different arena.

I don't know who JF is (or was when he played for that matter), but it seemed to me as though he brought a balloon to a knife fight.

Does he even coach hitting now? Because if he does, from that interview I still have no idea of what or how he teaches. I got the impression that he just made a joke about Rich...w/o knowing what kind of tool Rich is, and then his ego wouldn't let him just say, "Oops...never mind", and GTFO while the getting was good.

Pretty sure that Blewett knew it when he booked them, and was just hoping for and got the....

...for the ratings/followers he was looking for.

Another wasted hour of my life I'll never get back...but I should have known that already as soon as I saw TM's mug on the screen when I tuned in. Dang I'm dumb, and a glutton for punishment I guess...smh.😖

Good lord I think TM is a complete @ss.. but Frye is not the best person to be talking about swing mechanics. Not sure why Frye challenges TM when his specialty is obviously not mechanics. And again, I do believe TM is a dick.. and I don't agree with everything he teaches about mechanics, but Frye is embarrassing in this video.

I agree with you about TM's personality, and it damages his credibility tremendously. As Frye said himself, he doesn't teach hitting, or pay attention to hitting discussion or current instructors. It seems pretty clear that his only interest is a pissing match with TM and playing the "I was a major leaguer" card. TM being TM, loves the battle. IMO, they both looked like fools, but TM wins the cage match based on content related to the topic of discussion.

I don't think it was nearly the drama Blewett was hoping for, or a lot of people were expecting.

I thought the same thing about TM from his twitter activity and what I watched of this so far would not change my mind. I do have a friend that has called and spoken to TM and says he is as nice and helpful as he could be. Listen to the podcasts where Frye and TM were on by themselves. In those, Frye comes across as a "If you weren't in the show, your opinion doesn't matter" kind of guy and TM comes across as a good guy that is trying to help folks. As soon as they were together, they both let the Twitter persona come out like it was The Rock and Stone Cold doing a promo!

Couldn't agree more...

That's the thing.. Frye seems completely insignificant in this discussion. We all know this discussion was going to be about the heated discussion on Twitter.. but offered 0 in discrediting what TM teaches mechanically.

IMO...Frye doesn't understand enough about swing mechanics to offer any discrediting info. His hitting was about achieving a result without an understanding of how his body was working to make it happen. As was touched on multiple times, pro team hitting instruction is more about what's going on between the ears more than it is about between the head and the ground.

Frye's comments about young players tells me that he has spent very little (if any) time with skilled and motivated young athletes. It's amazing what they can do when given good tools and good instruction. A lot of us here know that laying the foundation for good mechanics at a young age helps them continue to build on success as they develop and grow.

The BS meter should have exploded when TM described how his hitters have the ability to adjust. Reference the number of Ks certain MLB players have each season.

Having only caught the tale-end of the hitting wars, there was always that feeling in the back of my mind when reading those "discussions" that if they only took the time to sit down and understand what the other person was trying to say, they'd probably find out they weren't that far off from each other. (huh - sounds like that could applicable to things outside of baseball and softball as well!)

I haven't watched the video yet - when I first posted, I was clearly hoping this would actually be a real conversation (here's what I teach, here's why, etc.) Unfortunately, it sounds like it was just a continuation of Twitter and msg board posts where logic is forbidden and having an open mind is a sign of weakness.
