Issue I would have is I think if DD got it she would shake it off, if she brought it home to me I would be in trouble.

I know Texas, which might have been the 1st state to allow softball, has shut some things down again,. I do not know if that includes softball.

We can easily get tested for free, no one I know has gone to get it done. I am not going to get it done either.

Not worth the risk to you or your DD health. I know many disagree with that sentiment, but the science will eventually put society in their place.
I have been very cautious throughout the pandemic. I am high risk, so if my daughter were to be exposed, it could be pretty dangerous. That is why I was floored when my nephrologist told me she could play. In short, the risk of transmission is sharply reduced when outdoors, and it is pretty easy to keep at a safe distance from others.

Of course, staying in isolation is safest. But my doctor pointed out that keeping children totally isolated may not be healthy for their emotional well-being. So we mask up, and keep a safe distance. But ultimately everyone should do what is best for their family.

The tournament we were scheduled for last weekend ended up getting canceled when someone affiliated with the host team tested positive. Tried to jump into a different tournament at the last minute, but the head coach didn't feel comfortable with the rules in place. It was at a private sports complex and they had strict rules on not bringing in outside food or coolers so you have to buy from their concession stand. That was going to make social distancing much harder if everyone had to go get in line for drinks during a Texas summer. At least at local city/county fields they closed the concession stand to limit contact and encourage everyone to bring their own food and water to minimize contact.

Linked to getting it at softball....who knows???

Yet now the one Nor Calif venue that was hosting games with guidelines for the past several weekends has cancelled next venues do to players on teams with positive tests.
Where did you hear "players on teams with positive tests"?? I live very close to the facility and have not heard players had positive tests. The County shut it down because they got complaints from the guys down the road that weren't allowed to hold any games. It was a tattle tale.

My team has played tournaments the last 4 weekends in a row. So far I haven’t heard anything coming from these tournaments and my players are all well!

It’s funny that tourney directors want you to follow guidelines but they only provide you with 2 game balls to last the entire tournament. Thousands of people are touching the same ball.

Games we have played in has each team supply their own game balls and the umps never touch the balls. The game balls go back to our dugout when we aren't on the field.

OK was playing before TX. For a while we had a bunch of TX teams come up to play in our tournaments.
