Here in NY we start on July 6th. they say only two persons per player and to keep social distance. I do not believe the the two person per player will hold. MY DD's team been practicing a few weeks and had a scrimmage Saturday. While I did mingle a bit with parents on my team, didn't go near any other people I didn't know. Yes, I can get Covid from people I know, but knowing them I feel more comfortable with them then mingling with a group of people I do not know. Plus us people in NY were hit over the head with this virus, we are pretty good about wearing masks and social distancing (most of us, that is, there are always those people everywhere who will do what they want.)

Exactly.

... and if you read the final version of the rules, there were no rules. It was "We strongly recommend...". Now I don't blame them as no one was going to enforce or follow the rules anyway, but it was silly.

We've been to a few tournaments and I'm sure everyone has seen dozens of posts on facebook and elsewhere. Our team does not do anything after the games (no high fives, no silly prayer circles) and each family brings a tent. That, along with being outside, makes us feel about as safe as we can playing games.

But so many teams and fans look and act like they don't know there's a virus out there. Kinda sad.

In Nj as in ny we are starting July 6. I think we will be more apt to socially distance. Nj and ny were epicenters and we saw a lot of death. People are still pretty shook up. Me personally I keep some distance with those I know but stand 6 plus feet from those i dont. With close friends I’m less concerned.
Any how, it will be interesting for sure. I’m just glad we are getting back to it. It’s been too long.

Thanks for the OP @sluggers. It led me to some good articles I hadn't seen yet. I know OK and now TX have done Zero to enforce anything as they return to the dirt. Some Tourneys, Leagues provided guidelines with absolutley no enforcement. In other words from what I have seen, you wouldn't even know Covid is "a thing" at the fields. Back to normal as usual.

We played our first double header the other night and there I am in the dugout with a bunch of girls asking myself what I am doing. So yes, I am guilty as anyone, and not sure I am doing the right thing. Especially as we are spiking in Dallas with the highest number of cases today. Some would argue....well there is more testing and yes that is true. But my customers who are the surgeons and hospitals in the area are seeing hospitalizations rise once again and there is much concern on their behalf.

We shall see but it definitely has me questioning if this is the right thing to do.

Again, thanks for the post @sluggers .

Oklahoma leagues are pretty much wide open until someone connected to a team tests positive, the one I know about shutdown Bambino and are leaving it up to other age brackets to decide to continue or not. Arkansas is following usssa rules except where my grandson plays(facility is huge so they exemptish). No sitting in bleachers so everyone sits together next to the fence

Yeah tourneys in OK pretty much business as usual which is fine with me since I get to sit all by my lonesome (well with wife and kids when they go) behind the OF fence...

We haven’t returned to sport yet in Aus and we have minimal community transmission. It blows my mind that Americans are returning to sport.

Is that is the only thing that blows your mind about our response to the pandemic?

It's so sad. It puts such a burden on healthcare workers and so many more people are going to die.
