#3 GK is a great gal. She's from our HS where my DD is/was a freshman. She's a quality young lady and really hard worker. We're so excited for her opportunity at BSU.

Did you do any kind of editing to your avatar or did the sky just perfectly contain Boise State's colors in the picture?

That is a photo that I have used for roughly 20 years or more. Just a beautiful Idaho sunset. It never occurred to me that it also - kind of - is Boise State's colors of Blue and Orange.

Good to know. I looked for stats for her from this year - with no success. Any idea where I can see her stats from 2020?

P.S. Is the figure of 291 strikeouts in her Junior year a typo?

Our HS Season ended with Corona lockdown before first games were played. so no 2020 stats from HS.

The 291 K's is probably not a typo. She dominated her Junior year. The HS team lost in the semifinals last year in state playoffs. As I recall the 2 runs that scored were result of errors. The challenge was run support not pitching. We were looking forward to this season. GK one of top 3 pitchers in the state. My DD, pitcher/1B/OF, was looking forward to playing behind GK and soaking up as much as she could this season.

But...HS stats...are just that...HS. GK performed well on her club teams as well...just had more run support. Currently her club team is the NW Bullets. But like everyone else....not much going on yet with that either. She bats left, good slapper. She is lightning fast runner. Doesn't look like it at first. When I first started watching her I would think to myself..."not gonna beat that out, not gonna get that steal". It got to the point that I was more surprised when she didn't beat out a throw or got thrown out stealing.

Equally or greater importance Grace is a really nice gal and a quality human, great teammate. High IQ for the game.

I thought that might have been the case - regarding HS Stats for this year. Boise State played 25 games this season (all away games) and their season was cancelled one day before their first home game of the season (vs Fresno State).

I wish GK all the best next season at Boise State but as I'm sure you well know there is a huge difference between H.S. and college ball. Sometimes the very best in HS just don't do well at the next level and sometimes the ones you think WON'T make it at the next level end up being among the best. You just never know who is going to do well at the next level until they get the chance to play.

Exactly. IDK how it will go for GK. I know she works hard, is determined, good student etc. Her path was not guaranteed early so in our opinion, watching from the outside, she's worked hard to earn the opportunity. I suspect she will work hard at BSU.

Well, I assume she will be playing her first games for Boise State this fall - when Boise State plays their fall "scrimmage" games vs the likes of Idaho State, Northwest Nazarene, etc. Of course they only play about 10 games in the fall and they don't keep score or release stats on anyone and none of the players have any uniform numbers, etc. I have tried watching those games in the past but if they aren't keeping score and you can't tell who any of the players are then I frankly don't see the point. I went to watch one last fall and left after 3 innings.
