When I first started working with her she was 55 regular motion but 60 on runs. We did 2 Step drill a ton. It’s become part of her regular motion. She was 58 today regular and still 60 on runs. That chick got excited!!
Cornbread - my DD is in almost exactly the same spot and we have also been doing the 2 Step and some other work on separating from the rubber sooner and generally being more explosive with her push and hip thrust. Good post!

I think clocking the runs at max effort motivated her to change her drive. She realized that she had more in the tank after people told her she simply needed to focus on spin and location (which I know are very important). I think she still has more in the tank.

In general ignore whatever “those people” tell you she should work on unless it’s her pitching coach. Sounds like you’re on the right path. Keep it up.

I’m not suggesting speed is king or that but simply working on spin and location won't get her very far. Improving mechanics will increase speed, but she needs to continue with speed work if she wants to reach the next level.

I'll refer this to @RADcatcher for comment. I'm not sure this is offensive or simply bad manners.

I wouldn't want my DDs, GDDs, or wife referred to as "chicks", and I would never refer to a woman as a "chick".

My wife, mom, sister and DD disagree
Actually, myself do not find this offensive. Often refer to a couple of my lady friends by saying "hey chickie".
Just my opinion words can be fun!

Being offended by words imo should be in what context they are used.
Not that they are used.

My disclaimer is being born in the 60's :)

As for pitching,
There are more than one way to find success.

The walk thru seems to produce more energy and create / transfers energy to the pitch.
If that is something that can stimulate what that feels like with the body.
Could be a useful tool.
Teaches muscles excetra....
