I'm close to the epicenter on the east coast. I've come to the realization that softball if over until next September. B
To be honest, I doubt any form of ball is played anywhere this summer or even the Fall for that matter.

Cancellation of all spring and summer sports, both professional and amateur, definitely is a possibility; based on the current available information, seems like the right thing to do.

We played USSSA this past weekend in Seminole County, Florida. As DD had been in school that week, didn’t feel too extreme. It was kind of awkward with the elbow bumps in place of handshakes. The new normal I guess. The team continues to practice this week, but we are not attending. Next tournament at end of March is cancelled. I am guessing we don’t play again until July.

Only regret is i just bought DD a new bat last week. Could have saved that cash.

Return policy?

Edited to add: Don't lick it before you send it back!

Let's get through this week, next week, the following week, and take a breath. I agree with the social distancing to slow things down, but in 3 days that has turned into "cancel everything!". The Olympics are 4 months away. If we are all still social distancing, confined to our houses, and everything closed, the Olympics won't matter because the economy will be so bad that we'll all be unemployed....

We have 85 confirmed cases in Texas and roughly 30 million people.
We lose about 10 people a day due to vehicular accidents. We have had one die from coronavirus.

A 90+ yr old in matagorda county sadly passed away this weekend and the confirmed yesterday he had the Coronavirus.

This is a devastating illness for the infirmed and the elderly, but the price we pay to try to avoid the spread seems high too. Stocks have dropped, people are out of work, weddings have been delayed our kids senior year has been taken and for an unsure outcome...I just wonder if this is worth it.

In another thread tourny was played in Turlock Ca. 100 miles from San Francisco where 7 million people were ordered to shelter in place.
Moronic situation.
Several threads going on the same topic going to repeat myself. Instead of all the banter about quarantine or sheltering in place, my interest is to discuss the near future plan and future plan. Anyone else considering the loss of income and how that affects people that need to pay rent and mortgage. What is the greater impact to even more people. The majority will need to continue working. Reality plan may be elderly and immune cases will need to be sheltered and the rest will have to get back to work. Which reminds me people who are still working are not sheltering.

Time will tell, I guess.

These doctors make some interesting points:
