Composite bats in general have way more things that can break. Not just the fact that composite
in general, for bats are made so thin now that they aren't made for the long haul, they are made to perform because
people want "hot out of the wrapper" nowadays :). All these things can break with normal hits, no mishits needed.

On a side note and completely off topic, nothing nicer than Bryce Harpers USA wood bat Marucci made for him a while back.

So is there a bat that needs 500 (or whatever) hits to get hot but ends up as hot as the Ghost Advanced but is durable?

I like my DD having to pay her dues. I’d like to get the bat I describe above so that she has to spend some time with it until it’s hot.

Broke the replacement blue (2018) ghost in the fall. Out of warranty, out of luck. Broke the first 2020 ghost in December, the replacement three weeks later, currently waiting on the next one to ship in. My humble opinion, no weather didn’t play a part. Winter here in Southernmost territory usually averages 50’s.

I don’t know about as hot as the Ghost Advanced but Rawlings bats are durable and definitely have a break in period.
I took my #2 DD to the field yesterday for the 1st time this season. It was in the low 50’s so the new bats stayed in the bag.
She is a line drive hitter that is slowly building up her power. So we used BP bats. 18 PXT, 18 Quatro, 17 LXT, 18 Ghost.
She hit the 200’ fence on the fly to dead center with the Quatro. 1st time ever reaching the fence. The other bats all pretty much the same results. Good contact but nothing else reached the fence in the air. Couple one hoppers.
Her game bats are 19 LXT & Xeno so hopefully with continued training she can go yard sometime soon. It would definitely make her day!!!
