I'm not sure I'm 100% on board, granted the pre load makes it look different since we are used to seeing it together.

BUT focus on what is happening as her front foot comes forward, look at the back hip area, you can kind of gauge off her uniform white stripe. As she loads or slides back you see the white strip does not move it is simply a slide. Now as her front foot goes forward she does get good separation and stretch you can see the stripe turn now whether or not it is a true coil versus just a twist I can't quite tell because of distance and angle but she is at least trying to engage her lower body. Am I a huge fan of the pre load and could should do better probably but I'm not sure the lack of coil analysis is spot on.

HOWEVER as stated in an earlier post I'm not making any real changes or suggestions based on these videos. A front facing actual video not gif would be required to really make 100% sure what is going on.

I don't have a big problem with her move forward. I don't like her negative move. I see ZERO hip coil. Her hips are going back and down way too much.

Watch Dicarlo here go to the 2:37 mark.

The problem is you can't see what is happening with the OPs DD casue it's a gif from too far away through the fence. So as she has her front leg traveling forward before toe touch tell me exactly what she is doing with her rear hip, I can see the it does look like it is rotating but is it just a turn versus a true coil I can't tell. I'm not saying everything is perfect I'm just not going to jump to conclusions based on this video

Yes that was part of the issue, we faced really slow pitcher and then normal speed and she just couldn't seem to adjust. Here is one of a faster pitcher .https://giphy.com/gifs/WR3zpdvrRUA7jYGek8

This was a big issue for our girls last year at 10U, inconsistent pitching. When we would be playing better teams with solid pitchers our girls would hit the seams off the ball then we get against a team that barely has a pitcher that can get the ball over the plate they were swinging at all sorts of trash and struggle to adjust.

Experience is probably the thing that will help the most.

We played a team last year with a pitcher that that threw 28 mph change off a 33 mph FB. Dinker after dinker to the pitcher and left side of the infield. Got beat bad. Played them at the next tourney in pool play, and we got their #1. She was throwing 44-45 with a 38mph change. We hit great, and won a pretty close game. Next day in bracket, they threw the slow pitcher at us, and we got shut out, 11-0. Just meatball after meatball, and had our girls over their front foot all day. No chance on the CU. It was hard to watch.

I downloaded the video and watched that. There is no coil and the hip is back and down too much. The problem is not occuring when her front leg is traveling forward it is before that. The error occurs on the gather.

ever do front toss with 3 different plates.....so the batter is changing the distance, and thus the timing, with consistent front toss......when we saw a lot of variability of pitching speeds, this was a staple of ours.....it worked on timing a lot

i also like the hit/pause drill to help with general timing issues

Have actually had this happen also it does seem pretty silly but girls just can't adjust and it's this age group too. Older girls 14/16U have the same issue with slow pitching but it usually only is good for one time through the lineup after that you better pull that slow meatball pitcher cause she is about to get rocked....see this alot in JV games when other team doesn't have a good pitcher but then usually third inning when top of the line up rotates around you bat through the lineup.

I don't ever remember complaining that a pitcher was too slow. Not enough HR derby and wiffle ball...

Thanks! She is a pitcher too.....soooo finding the time and good hitting coach that fits into her schedule is tough!
I have taught hitting lessons for years and the #1 problem with most broken swings is too much going on. No reason for a “load”. Get set and be ready to move forward with a small step, hip turn, and pulling the knob toward the ball. As you can see here the “load” has her body working like a pendulum which is terrible for hitting. Keep it simple. Less body movement means less likely for mistakes and eyes changing plane

I'm curious, can you explain why you think there is no reason for a load? Especially considering all upper level batters have a negative move or load. If by meaning load you mean a gather or negative move.
