I guess we can all just come to an agreement that there is no right or wrong or better or worse path here. Some of our DD’s will decide that playing on a D1 team is their main goal while others will decide getting into the highest academic school they can is their main goal. It all comes down to what their future life and career goals are and how they can best utilize this current decision to set them up for success in the future.

Yes I couldn't agree more. Not all of us have dds that are capable of high academic schools just like not all of us have dds that are capable of P5 schools. Every one of us have DDs that are amazing in their own way and are going to make awesome people no matter what route they choose

If you believe it’s more important for SA’s to play at the highest level they can, rather than going to a school they love and earning the degree they will use for the next 30 years then we definitely disagree. If given a choice between the two, I would hope parents and their kids choose the degree.

To compare a group of 8th and 9th graders who’s coach has them trophy chasing to college teams recruiting the best players they can and playing to win is just a really bad take, IMO.

I believe a player should go wherever is the best fit. I think D3 is a great place to play softball. The academic argument is not really valid for most schools. Sure there are a few schools that have the "best" specific program,. There are a lot of really good schools with really good softball programs. You can play at a high level and also get a great education. UCLA, Michigan, Notre Dame, Duke, Northwestern, and on and on and on. I am glad your DD found the right place for her.
