I think it’s bushleague to actually steal signs BUT see plenty of teams that do the second base calling ...most of the time it’s not actual pitch sign stealing but catcher setting up too early - if the catcher sets up early then i think it’s fair game - catcher need to adjust and learn not to give it away

If it’s actual pitch stealing well .. Astros are poster children for bushleague... if I was a college coach seeing players steal signs I wouldn’t want them in my crew.. character does count

99% of college coaches would disagree.

Stealing signs from second base (or the dugout) is not against the rules. It’s not bush league either. How the stolen signs are communicated is the question. Using a camera or a buzzer or a smart watch. Illegal. Hand signs legal.

Don’t like it? Get better at signs and setting up.

One of my favorite sign stealing memories was when my dd was 12u she was pitching and coach was asking for a change up my dd throws an outside high fastball and the catcher throws out a runner stealing.

Told my dd later how fortunate they missed the pitch sign. “No Megan figured out their signs and called for the outside high pitch so she could throw out the runner. She figures them out just about every game” Megan was the 12 year old catcher. So I said wow she called for a pitch out? My dd said. What’s that? They figured it out and didn’t know what they were doing had a name.
What’s coach think of this? “I don’t know we haven’t told him”

Coaches at higher levels don’t want that?

Well to be honest if that was true... then why the drastic changes in BA when the Astros were at Home vs on the Road? You cannot tell me at the MLB level, knowing a breaking pitch is coming 100% isn't an advantage

Actually, the 2017 Astros hit better on the road:

part of the game...get better at disguising signs and pitches. Using technology on the other hand isn't ok. It needs to be done without that. If my girl is giving up location the other team will never know it though. That's part of having etiquette as well. If you have one out there yelling or pointing to what side and its obvious then that is Bush League big time. Do it with class.

First, an app has already been written to decipher your armband, they were able to quickly break it down. But if your pitcher can't hit her spots it's pretty much completely secure

Second, everyone knows it happens, I watched this weekend the runner signal outside to have the pitch curve in towards the batter. A smart pitcher catcher combo will have no problems dealing with it. The whole idea is over inflated.

Third, during the state tournament my favorite catcher came off the field laughing because the opposing coaches signs included a middle finger, because he knew during her at bat she was looking. She didn't understand the sign, nor did it have any influence on her sending the ball over the fence.

P & C use a wrist coach during the season so not an issue going forward. Just thought it was a little much for another team to be relaying locations during a pool game of a friendly pre-season tournament but we didn't say a word. I was going to visit with the P & C and start "opposite day" but decided to just let it go. The P was rusty enough that it didn't matter much. If inside was called it was only about 50/50 if the pitch would actually be put inside. Outside was more 30/70, Lol.

What is the APP?
