That is what I used to buy in MS...
I'm out of touch with the current state of metal, but Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax were a heavy part of my music diet as a young adult. Some early Anthrax served me very nicely during a workout session this week. I enjoy Pantera, but for some reason, Slayer never really clicked for me
I definitely dig a lot in the "punk" category - old stuff (X, Dead Kennedys...) and second-gen (Pennywise, Bad Religion...). I'm also a fan of the following bands that used to be considered "punk" when I first started listening to them: Green Day, Social D, and Blink 182.

It is Christmas time so....TSO and some Pentatonix
I also like Gangsta rap from the mid 80's, and 90's. NWA, 2Pac, Bigge Smalls, etc. I also like country music such as: Montgomery Gentry, Gary Allen, Allison Krauss. I am a fan of the Marshall Tucker Band, and Neil Young also.
Top 40 and some rap maybe. Have to keep up with my 12U players.
