I rarely hit bombs, and when I do only when pulling

My daughters hit home runs to center & left, but never opposite field (except practice). I just think they generate more power by staying compact and then exploding to get full extension when they pull the ball. This assumes they are hitting inside pitches.

When girls pull the ball even when pitched outside they are swinging around the ball rather than through it. Take them to the tee and have them move the ball inside to outside and correct their swing.

This thread isn't about me, but about a hitter I know. I believe this is happening because the hitter is rolling over and the swing is around the ball, instead of inside and through the ball. This hitter has hit line drives to center or opposite field, but never ever hit a bomb. Quite often the ball leaves the bat with a lot of side spin and dies early. Again I believe the hitter isn't staying inside and through the ball. Instead they hitting around the ball and cutting across it. Thoughts?
It sounds like she's getting onto swing plane late for the oppo hits. That's why you're seeing that weak back side slice. Try having her wrap the bat further behind her head so the bat has more time to get onto the correct plane behind the ball. If she's front arm dominant and merry go round swing, she's pulling the knob out of the zone rather than releasing the barrel behind the ball and into the zone from out if the catchers mitt. Gotta keep the front arm barred and tight against the chest to keep the hands deep and not leaking forward. Let the barrel drop below the hands early. IMHO
