If you figure it out, let me know 😆

I've pretty much stopped looking at my DD's tee swing mechanics and if we actually do tee work we just do it for a warmup.

I dont know if I'll ever figure it out either LOL She told me that when the ball is moving, she feels like she has to change her posture to match the ball.

Her posture at contact is similar to Marcela's. She isn't striding out correctly e.g. she is reaching some with the front leg. I would say I can help you with that..but at the moment I cannot  Depending on the day, the pitcher, whether it is a game or BP and what time high tide is, Marcela's stride out will change.

I use tee for warm up and never leave it in the same position more than 2 swings. Position tee high, low, inside, outside, way out in front, etc. Then move on to front toss 5 pitch rounds never throwing more than 2 strike in a row. I finish batting sessions with me doing full windmill pitching from 40 feet. I am a fan of daily hitting 20 to 25mins instead of 2 days of 1 hr sessions. Skill training is best done fresh, rested and short burst daily. Make training random rather than setting tee up in middle of plate waist high.

My observations to why they reach more during live pitching, 1 - timing. 2 - is that it has to do with how they coil during their stride will determine whether they reach or not.

Usually her sessions are no more than 45 minutes max. Most of the time its around 25-30min. Yesterday I did move the tee around, and even tried to hit different spots off of front toss.

She may not be an instant hitting pro but she's a smart kid to describe what she's doing like that :) That's exactly what she's doing.

Emphasis in the above sentence on *instant*. Just because we KNOW the answer doesn't mean she can implement it in a few sessions. 10,000 hours right? Maybe not that many to burn in a new hitting mechanic, but just keep working on the right stuff and she'll be MUCH better off than burning in the wrong stuff. I just think that's huge and something we forget. Sometimes the change is so incremental day to day but if you look back after a month or a year the changes are substantial. I look at someone like Eric F's daughter and her improvements are almost inevitable because she's been working hard on the right stuff for a long time now (plus she grew into a big strong athlete, yes).

Clemenslee1, keep at it, don't show your day-to-day frustration to her and you are doing her a great service (you too Pattar lol).

Positive thoughts for the day :)

In all seriousness she gets more frustrated than I do. If she takes two bad swings in a row in BP she gets pissed off. Of course me and my calm demeanor must bring on some of that because she isn't like that in games when I am sitting 220 feet away...I try and tell her that I am world's leading expert in how getting pissed off at yourself doesn't help anything but apparently I need to document my credentials for her to believe me..maybe she can ask her Grandpa..
