What comes first? Direction or tilt? That is how tilt is created. It’s really a no teach. The front leg and front elbow do the adjusting in good swings.

Learn how to use your hands. The hand/barrel path dictates tilt.

Here’s a good tutorial on why a push is a push. Also why knob to ball gets a bad rep. Casey is perfect with his analysis.

Edit: learn how to use your hands and how to ‘load’ them.

The hands do not create tilt. You can feel like the lead elbow takes you to the ball location, but it doesn't dictate tilt.

Both videos key in on loading the hands or barrel. Whichever way you view the swing.

Casey speaks of the shoulders counter rotating. JD speaks of his right scapula stretching (I prefer the scap). Different feels. Same result.

Both moves need resistance and momentum to create this ‘hand load’... that would be the negative/forward move accompanied by a relaxed upper body, so it can be ‘loaded’(neck slot swings can be beneficial during this teach/feel). Loading the upper early is detrimental and throws the sequence and balance out of order.
Although you will see ‘active’ or preset hands in guys who’s negative move is stagnant or preset. That would be style. Imo this is the biggest part of the sequence that needs to be learned and felt. It is the separation or shift or FYB or COM dropping.

Active negative:

Stagnant/preset:

The upper must resist going back during the negative in space and must resist going forward relative to the body during the positive move, until the shoulders are fully stretched(back scap). Which should be at toe touch/foot down which is max stretch. The obliques are stretched(COM centered) and the upper body is loaded at this point ( back elbow up or back). The hands and bat are the only things left that need to receive this stored up energy. Which happens once the hands ‘turn the barrel’ which is slot or ‘getting on plane’ INITIALLY(tilt will happen here). . Then the top hand gets loaded which would start lag(hands coming forward). From there it’s a path of hands inside until release which is when the hands will turn.

The hand path/barrel path dictate how you tilt. Watch the hands create direction first. Then watch the body adhere to that direction. Show me a hitter that tilts before he directs.

Not here.
The pitched ball determines what the body will do.
The eyes provide information to the brain. With this 'provided' information the body determines what to do or nor do.

The brain/eyes tell the body when to stop and plant. They don’t direct the body On how/where to swing the bat. The hands set direction.

Maybe common sense should intervene.... all hitters look virtually the same at toe touch correct?

Then hands operate independent of the brain? No wonder I cannot stop myself from giving people the finger when I am driving!!

Your comedic timing isn’t good... 😑 But anyway. If you want to get into feel.. sure the brain/eyes tell the hands what to do. But from a physical sense nope. The hands tell the body.
