that was according to parents, none of them think their girl is an outfielderWe are losing some key players that are aging up to 12U. It leaves us needing a pitcher and an OF (and some other positions as well).

That is only because I won't let you be..you know you want to be my friend..(I am not patters friend either so there)
I've actually been at the conversation with a parent that they wouldn't participate in practice and not interact with their kid or coaches during the game. They agreed and sat in the outfield for the season. Some people can't handle the competition or not being involved.Make it part of your contract that all the parents have to sit in the OF..problem solved
If they made me sit in the stands I would pull my kid from the team...I've actually been at the conversation with a parent that they wouldn't participate in practice and not interact with their kid or coaches during the game. None of them ever do.
But a good CF is worth a lot once you hit 12U.
That is the problem with the OF ... for the first few years it is a place to banish “weaker” players. Then, almost overnight, OF becomes very important and few players are prepared for it.
Bottom line is this: Is it possible to coach the team and be friends with all the parents at the same time?
