I'm going to go against the consensus here, but I wouldn't pay for hitting instructions until she makes the conscious decision that she wants to be better. My DD started going to a hitting instructor at 2nd year 10U, which was her first year of travel. She was fine at rec level, but decided really quickly that striking out against higher level pitching that she was seeing in travel wasn't any fun. What is the purpose of a hitting coach at Coach Pitch?

Same as it is for a hitting coach in kid pitch...? Improve one's hitting mechanics..
Note, I am not saying I suggest one at that age. Depends on the kid's ability to focus and take instruction.
I work my own DD as of now, she is 9. Based upon my above comment she will be ready for a private hitting instructor
when she is 38...... 🤷‍♂️

Maybe think about a small group class/session to expose her to new ideas and what it means to get coached. Send her with a friend. More affordable way to ease into it but still get started on personal instruction....

I have this vision in my head....Of crazy softball parents huddled around the backstop, getting slo-motion video's of their Coach Pitch kid's at bats...and sending them to their hitting coach between at-bats. :ROFLMAO:

When my DD was 8, I took her to 4 hitting lessons just after she made the All-Star team to fix some bad habits she had picked up against rec pitching. When she was 9 and 10 I took her to 3-4 lessons in February to get ready for the rec season and then 3-4 lessons in May to tune up for the All-Star season.

She's almost 14 now, and my philosophy since she was 11 is to take her to 3-4 lessons before the season starts for a tune-up, then take a break until she needs some fine tuning, then do 3-4 more lessons.

I may be a little different on this then others and I’m definitely no expert. But at a young age I felt that just swinging the bat and learning hand eye coordination was the most important thing. We didn’t start hitting lessons until second year of 10u. When we started hitting lessons our instructor asked what we wanted to gain from lessons. He stated his goal was not have just the goal of making more contact but to put more power behind the contact. To change weak grounders to base hits. Singles to doubles and so on.

First paid hitting lesson was in 7th grade. Now she thinks she's good to get any extra work in. When she realizes that the bench is a whole colder in college than she thought, her attitude will change.

My dd is 7 and is going to her 2nd hitting lesson this week. She does well with her pitching lessons for a whole hr, we have been doing pitching lessons for a few months and dd loves it. she is now competing for the Ace spot on her 8u all star team after being written down as the 5th pitcher in the beginning. just like others have said, it really depends on dd and her drive.

9 or 10, before 9 kids are just playing around...about age 9 they get competitive. If they don’t keep up with the score of the game they won’t work on technique from week to week.
