Guys I've noticed my DD check swing is different than her actual swing. But I was wondering is the check swing more mechanically correct?

She's doing a lot right. At her age a check swing like that is a small miracle. On her full swing she reaches out with her front leg and falls out of her coil. Probably a function of the slow pitch speed and her aggressiveness to go get it, which isn't a bad thing. I think she'd probably hit legitimately fast 10U speed with those mechanics (those pitches aren't that, unless her take was on a changeup, if so double kudos). Let her swing it like this for a few years before you worry
If this is coach pitch get another pitcher. My son played coach pitch at 5/6 in Alabama many years ago. I was just AC but HC said we are pitching these balls to these kids straight and hard so have your kids get use to it ...no arcs on any pitches, first few games some kids struggled....by the end of the season almost all our kids were hitting the ball on the grass while the other teams were nothing but slow dribblers with dads lobbing balls in there.Bullpen needs to be called..that Coach pitcher seems to be running out of steam.
It is easier to do that in baseball since most of the coaches played baseball at some level. I am not sure how well I could throw from full distance underhand. My accuracy craps out after 25 feet...If this is coach pitch get another pitcher. My son played coach pitch at 5/6 in Alabama many years ago. I think you are correct because on the actual swing it looks like she is reaching out to the pitch again probably because it is so slow and although it cut off it looks like a low pitch that she is dropping her hands to get to but that's another issue entirely
Yeah it is completely different but IMO you gotta try, after one year at 12U I just taught myself to pitch worked out great cause my DD was learning to be a catcher; you just wear out your pitchers arms during BP and while I always did a rotation with the machine it's not exactly the same, neither is being behind a screen 25 or 30 feet away. Almost got really clocked once though by best hitter on our team hit an absolute screamer back at me all I could do was put glove in front of my face then fell backwards flat on my back...I always recommend masks for pitchers now, it was an adreniline rush I don't ever really want to expierience again. It is easier to do that in baseball since most of the coaches played baseball at some level.
