Florida beat Alabama 2 out of 3 times. Florida mercy ruled Alabama both times.

In the third game, Alabama came back and won 6-4. Alabama was able to score runs against Florida's big guns, Nelson and Brombacher.

Generally, it looks like Alabama panicked in the first 2 games. That is, Alabama may have given up after Florida got up by a couple of runs, and quit playing.

The difference between the West Coast teams and the SEC teams is the "intestinal fortitude" of softball. Arizona, Stanford, UCLA, Washington, Fresno State (heck, throw in SLO and Cal State Northridge) aren't going to fall to pieces if they get down by a couple of runs.

Hopefully, Alabama learned something about itself and playing ball against a really good team.
