A lot has been written about what college coaches can’t do with the new rule changes.

What CAN the college coaches do at 12:01 a.m. on 09/01? Can they call, can they make offers on the phone or just invite you to campus where offers will be made?

What do you predict will happen for the uncommitted 2020’s (hs juniors) on 09/01? Will it be a deluge of invites for visits? Will it be a lot of nothing?

Predictions and speculation is encouraged of course!

I predict that a UFO will come down and pick them all up and take them to tryouts for the Mars Minions!!! Heard they are trying to enter a team for the Olympics in 2024.

Seriously West, I am extemely excited for the uncommitted 2020 juniors! My DD is one of them and all the talk I am hearing is that they will be highly sought after. This summer DD has gained a ton of interest for the first time in her career (if you want to call it that). That said, there was an article on FloSoftball a few months back (I will have to find it) that stated the 2020 class could be the highest recruited class among all divisions in years if not in history. I remember seeing that briefly but a coach reminded me of it today. Again, I need to find it and re-read it but I think that class has a ton of opportunity.

So, I expect much interest in this showcase season for 2020's and looking forward to seeing how it all plays out!

I heard they are looking for a couple pitchers and a catcher to round out an already talented roster, lol!

Naming contest! Here is my first one

Red Planet Extraterrestrials Platinum.

It could be like the “Red P Extras”

Also need a head coach for this motivated group of top level athletes.

I've heard both sides of the story for September 1...some travel coaches believe it will be a feeding frenzy that morning, and some think that the college coaches may bide their time and wait and see what happens during the fall season before contacting players and setting up visits during the off-season. As the father of a 2020 player, I tend to think it will be the former. Several coaches have already started dropping hints about contacting my daughter on 9/1. I don't think anyone wants to wait and see, when it's possible their targets will be contacted by rival teams earlier. Hope I'm right! :p

I have heard both sides of the coin too. The one person I know with the most experience in recruiting believes a lot of 2020’s will fall through the cracks and get overlooked this year and the biggest winners will be mid-majors and D-2’s. On the other hand I noticed some schools having camps at the very end of August. One is having camp on the 1st and 2nd of September which could be rather handy....

I’m hoping for feeding frenzy but preparing for crickets. We will see.
