Nothing will happen for 2020's. All the big D-1 already have their 2020's, 2021's and 2022's. Mid major D-1 and D-2 will finish up their 2020 recruiting. It will same ole same ole.

Not what I heard from some respected club coaches. I guess we will see in about 24 days for 2020's. Some 2020's that are verballed will still get calls from other schools with offers on Sept. 1. We have a 2022 on our team that will have her phone blow up 2 years from now since her Coach left her verballed school. That coach is already at all our games in his new colors.......

From talking to coaches this summer many were spending more time on the 2020 class. Also some big D-1 schools are full but not that many. We had several big programs watch us this summer. I also have no doubt several of these early commits and schools will change their minds. Many early commits did not get a ton of money so what will keep another school from doubling their offer.

There are exceptions to every rule. Yes, kids change their mind all the time or life happens and they cannot fulfill their commitment. I know a kid committed to a big P-5 school and signed her NLI and decided not to play softball after graduation. Big D-1's were handing out verbals like crazy i Feb and March of this year for 2020 and 2021. There are plenty of Mid Major D-1 and D-2's still recruiting for 2019 and 2020.
This new rule is not keeping the coaches from talking to the kids, they are still emailing the kids and talking to them in a roundabout way. We may hear a lot more verbals in September.

The new rules haven’t been in place long enough to create much of an impact this year. TB coaches will get a few calls from coaches rounding out their classes or searching for girls who may have been overlooked. Girls who verballed will get calls following up to see how they’re doing. Nothing earth shattering. I certainly wouldn’t get discouraged if the phone doesn’t ring. There will always be D1’s taking on girls up to and even after signing day.

Four days and counting! Spoke with a couple of D1 coaches last weekend who said they would be making a lot of phone calls on 9/1, both to confirm their already-verballed 2020s and to speak to potential recruits as well. Hoping it's a big day for all of you 2020 folks!

So, my DD is a 2021 but played up with her club's 16U team for a couple showcase tournaments this summer, one of which resulted in an invitation to a local D1's *recruiting showcase* this weekend (8/31-9/2).

Apparently, when DD pitched the first game, there were several D1 coaches sitting in the bleachers behind home plate in front of me (yes, i'm clueless!) including from this D1 school. Although they lost 5-1, DD only gave up 1 earned run against one of the better teams in the region who made it to at least the semi-finals of this pretty popular showcase tournament.

At first I thought it was just another *money grab* camp/clinic, but apparently no other girls on DD's 16U team got an invitation.

Since DD is a 2021, it should be interesting to see come Saturday (9/1) how she's treated as compared to the other 2019-2020 girls.
