OK...my daughter (15 Years Old) is right in the middle of being recruited and has had a couple offers come through in the last couple of months. Out of the blue, a coach (mid major D1) saw a video of my daughter and immediately wants her to come on a visit. He has expressed extreme interest in her to our travel coach based on the game video he saw.

So, my question is, and this is for the parents who have already gone through the process: when we go on the visit and meet the coach for the first time, should my daughter dress up or go in sweats/jeans and tshirt looking like an athlete?

Some of you may be asking if I'm serious. I'm definitely serious. My wife and I have been debating what would be best. She wants to make a good impression but she also wants to show that she is an athlete.

Thanks for any input into this journey that has taken so long and is now here and is happening so FAST!!!

Sporty, casual or dressy, as long as she stays away from the Kardashian look you’ll be fine.

DD approached each of her visits with an "academic first / athletics second" thought process. She dressed casually; khakis and a blouse in order to meet with faculty, finance, etc. But she also wore her travel ball jacket, which displays her team name and number, but also fits with the casual clothing.

My dd wore nice clothes... Either a dress or skirt, with heels, hair and make up like she was on a "shoot"...
however once on the field it was all business, full travel ball attire, hair French braided, hair wrap/ sweat band, sunglasses. She looked the part. Act as if you're already on the team!

Every coach we've ever met with (a dozen or more) all wore team-branded athletic clothing. If they weren't meeting with the academic/admissions folks as well, my DDs always wore the same.

On the occasions that we were meeting with faculty, a skirt or slacks with a sweater or blouse was the choice. I suppose it depends on the type of college you're visiting.

DD always wore casual clothing, like she would have worn to class. DD always had her list of questions, and knowledge of team, so cia he’s knew she had done her research and was serious.

Emily also wore Jeans and her TB team hoody to most of her college visits since it was usually Fall or Winter. The few times she went in the Summer on a visit, It was shorts and a tournament T-shirt or TB team practice Tee.
