I am still amazed at the number of D1 athletes who fail drug tests. When DD was going through the recruiting process one coach told us their school drug tested all athletes every 6 months with random tests in between. DD has already had two tests and has not even been there a year. It is not a question of IF you will be tested, it is a matter of WHEN.

I am with JAD on this. To me is hows the true character of the athlete when they test positive. I am not judging them for smoking pot due to legalities as that debate could go on forever. I look at it from a discipline and self control stand point. The athletes know its going to happen and they understand positive test not only hurt them but suspensions can hurt their team as well yet they still do it. I can see one mistake but the ones who are typically suspended have failed more than one test.
