DD got her first offer in September. This was her first year playing top Travel Showcase. She has two D1 schools showing interest but another D1 school that never showed much interest gave her a offer that wasn’t expected. They told her that it wasn’t any time frame on offer but they will continue to recruit her position until she makes a decision.Since then DD has went to camps and has drawn lot of attention from others but no offers. She is a raw talent with a long way to go but is a very athletic kid.She is a 2020 Slapper with Elite speed. We are new to this but have seen school run out of money with young players committing early.Any advice will be appreciated

In what way are the two schools showing interest? Is your DD interested in those schools? If so, and if they are close enough, get on campus. Attend a camp, a clinic, or just have your DD let them know she is interested in an unofficial visit and ask if she can visit. Since she is still a sophomore she needs to get on campus so she can talk to them.

Congratulations on the offer! Every situation is different, but now that your DD has an offer you can use it as leverage to push other schools to either show interest or move on. Have your DD rank the schools that interest her and start at the top. Tell the coaches that your DD is very interested in their program, but has an offer from another school and needs to make a decision within a time period.

Also make sure what the offer really means to you in terms of out of pocket expenses...in state/out of state, can she get academic money, etc.
