DD has been in mutual contact with a particular school (emails back and forth, invitation to visit.) This school is high on her list but not #1 choice, however. She's also been in contact with another school although it's a little bit earlier in the game for that school (no invitation from coach yet to visit school). There is a particular showcase camp coming up where these schools will be, along with various others. She really wants to go to the camp to showcase her skills and hopefully put more options on the table but does anyone think that going to this camp can maybe offend coach of first school mentioned if she goes and is possibly seen talking to other coaches there?

She should go to the camp. Of course she will talk to coaches from other schools. The coaches understand this. She should definitely make an effort to spend some time talking to the coach who is recruiting her the hardest. That coach will be talking to other players right? As for the other school that hasn't invited her to visit yet, she should just tell them she wants to visit and ask them when it would work for them. You should be able to judge their interest in her by how excited they are to set up a visit and then how much effort they put into her visit. If the head coach spends several hours with your DD, that is a good thing and it will show that they are truly interested.

Coaches absolutely know and expect your DD to attend many camps and talk to multiple coaches. These coaches want to find the right players that fit and the families want to find the right fit. Everyone is dating everyone until someone proposes. Once you accept the proposal, then you are engaged. Once you sign the NLI, you are married. Some engagements are longer than others. Imagine being engaged for 5 years if you verbally commit in the 8th grade!!

create competition and go. If the first college truly wants her, they may up the ante to get her. No harm in going either way. All college coaches expect your DD to explore other opportunities.

Coaches are not offended easily at the college level. They recruit many more girls than needed as
no college hits on 100% of recruits. Some choose a different school, some cannot make the grades etc.

Okay...so I guess another question I have is do we have to email the coaches she's been in contact with to tell them she is going to be at the camp or should we just go ahead and just see them there? I'm leaning to just showing up...what do you guys think?

I would email them to say she's going to be there ( by that I mean she should email them). It depends on the camp but some of the bigger ones where there are a ton of girls it may make it hard for the coach to see your daughter unless they know she is already there.

You email every coach you know is going to be there whether you are considering their school or not. You never know what they may be looking for or what they may see. I have had several girls who just had 'that' weekend in front of some coaches and got some really unexpected offers.
