Productive Showcase

When I coached a travel team in Queens NY a local college coach recommended this showcase ( the one in January) as an very authentic venue where many coaches actually recruit from.
I sent 4 of my players there and all received offeres from D2 and D3 schools.
Just passing the torch to you guys...

Being in the Central Plains I don't know anything about this one or any East coast showcases. We have gone to both the Colorado Fireworks last July and then the PGF in St Louis the following October. We saw more college coaches, of all levels, at the St. Louis showcase. The only exception would be the Academic All-Star game DD played in Colorado. The girls had a lot more fun at the St. Louis showcase as well. DD got a lot of intrest in St Louis, even though she had already commited by that point.

Dave Rocha is a top notch individual. One of my players attended in January, and found it to be productive, well run, with numerous coaches attending (ones advertised...no bait and switch).

Because of that previous experience, the majority of my players will attend next year. His summer showcase is kick butt too from what I understand.

FYI - Besides being a great guy, Dave also is the USSSA Director for CT and puts on very well organized, run, and umpires tournaments in East Hartford every weekend during TB season.

True Tim, his UMPs are the best around. The group of umps he uses are by far the best in the area...do not pitch illegally in his tourney's, you will get called...every time.

With the new recruiting rules winter things are done unless the camp is owned by a college, at least for D1 coaches. St Louis has 2 showcases St Louis 1 & 2 during the fall, both are great from what I've heard with St Louis 1 supposedly having more coaches in attendance

Thanks for posting this. I had never heard of it and its close enough for DD to attend- so I signed up yesterday!
