DD did not email the coach that we were coming- do you think it would be ok to stop by while we are on campus or would it be bad just dropping in unannounced?

As you probably could tell, it was just a last minute thought. The team had the day off so I thought the odds might be good of dropping in to see a practice or say hi to the coach. turns out the temperature dropped about 10 degrees while we were inside eating lunch so Mom and DD were not dressed appropriately and too cold by the time we got to the car to go exploring.
good thing was DD liked the school whether or not she can play ball there.

If you are just touring the campus you can do that without the coaches being involved, but if you want the tour to include the athletic facilities you probably need to let the coaching staff know. Do not be disappointed if they decline, there is a reason college coaches avoid scheduling camps and tours while they are in season.
