I have a question for all the parents out there of college players ...

I recently started working at a university where my work over looks both the baseball and softball fields. After a softball practice finished last week I watched as all of the players grabbed a rake and started raking different parts of the infield. That evening in to the next morning the area had a storm pass through. The next day the baseball team was out with large sponges soaking up areas with standing water.

Last year my wife and I attended a game at another university where before the team took infield each player grabbed a section of the water hose slung it over their shoulder and the team watered the infield.

I say all of this to ask at what level do players not pick up a rake, a hose, etc ? I assume that varies from coach to coach, and team to team.

Just curious what others see. I assume Mike White or Mike Candrea doesn't have their #1 pitcher out raking the circle - or am I mistaken ! ?
